Wow. Not what I expected. Looks wonderful. Just wow.

Matt Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:12 am

Looks promising…I'll make sure to keep an eye on it.

Jack Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:15 am

What platforms? Please be on PS3. This looks awesome.

Rikitatsu Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:25 am

Awesomesauce! Mikami bring it on!

sr.pixel Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:25 am

wild fox Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:31 am

HUH ?????

Fronk Wost Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:54 am

This is not God Hand 2.

This is Gear of Halo.

Awful, simply awful.

ClarkJK Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:02 am

This is what you get when you mix StarWars and Halo. Fortunately, both franchise are good. So logically, this should be good too!

Álvaro Lopes Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:07 am

Awesome Trailer, I think that Platinum will surprise everybody, for me it should be on Wii because it has a lack of shooters.

George Melita Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:22 am

Say as you wish, it's a different step considering Mikami-san's portfolio. If anything, it should be watched based on the talent behind the title alone.

TK Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:29 am

This trailer certainly looks amazing, but we don't know much about it to make conclusions ("This is Gear of Halo. Awful, simply awful." really?)

I wonder if this game is related to P.N.03.

Gem Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:58 am

Halo's a bit too overrated in my opinion, this seems to have somewhat a fresh look. Specially using mostly live action stuff which is pretty awesome; sure it's not a movie instead of a game? :3

An Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:14 am

looks like a halo copy but i might be wrong

ELF Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:19 am

WOoW! Bring iiit! Awesome trailer. Can't wait to play this game.

MALIK Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:23 am

well it looks promising and please mikami do your best and i hope it's on ps3

FAUNA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:27 am

The suit looks very cool. Is this related to P.N.03? This looks awesome. I hope this is for PS3/360. PLEASE SHOW US SOME IN-ENGINE FOOTAGE or IN-ENGINE SCREENSHOTS! I don't think CG should be used anymore. I love you Platinum. Everything you make is on a higher level.

Adachi Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:36 am

Looks impressive; makes me eager to see the gameplay.

Platinum's already proven themselves to be outstanding developers, so my expectations are unusually high for a premise we've seen in so many other games.

Keep up the good work, guys!

NaniNaniX Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:37 am

Eye candy! The details looks great. The suit looks sweet, but I must say that the character right now needs personality. And I don´t like the fact that it only is a male character – I want to be be able to choose the gender. This game might turn out interesting – and hopefully it doesn´t turn out to be just like any other action game we already have seen.

Eric Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:46 am

The style reminds me of PN03. Is this dude going to be shaking his ass a lot?

FAUNA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:50 am

I HOPE we can see some in-game graphics & concept artwork very soon (please don't be for Wii). I bow to Mikami-san & all at PG.

Ellis Posted on January 30, 2010 at 3:13 am

Huh. I just watched this trailer over at, then I saw it again at, and noticed that the "world exclusive" gametrailers version completely omitted the end credits that shows the fact that the LOGAN guys worked on this, which is a shame since I'm sure some people would recognize that name as the same guys who worked on the MGS4 tv clips.

Its pretty cool that you guys comissioned LOGAN to make this, but I can't help but imagine that it costed an awfully pretty penny for such a short clip.

Frostis Advance Posted on January 30, 2010 at 3:28 am

Excellent !

The video quality is superb and the atmosphere looks top !

I would like to see ingame now *_*

Unknown Posted on January 30, 2010 at 3:36 am

This has got to be developed for PS3, we need a good title to kick Halo into touch. CG is great, but I hope they can match the game quality to MW2 or better!

Phishfood Posted on January 30, 2010 at 3:54 am

Interesting to see what the gameplay is like. I doubt it will be like Gears of War because Mikami games tend to have deep gameplay mechanics.

WTF4EVA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 3:56 am

very sweet looking trailer .. unfortunately i dont see any resemblence to Halo just cuz the guy has a suite doesnt make him a copy of anything .. its a war on America so basically futuristic anti terrorist type of game bla bla bla.. were american were the best etc (haha love the our peaceful nation comment, i sense sarcasm from a japanese developer? oh well gotta wait n see what its all about i guess.. :) gluck on the dev… well done on the trailer.

Ross T Posted on January 30, 2010 at 3:59 am

So everyone has pointed out that it looks like Halo, but has no one noticed the whole Iron Man stuff going on as well? Sure he can't fly and he uses a gun but the whole "suiting up" section and the emphasis on what I can assume to be some sort of power core? Just watch the Iron Man trailer to see what I mean.

Will be nice to see some in game action so we can really judge what the game will be like.

Coma Posted on January 30, 2010 at 4:10 am

Wel I don't know about anybody else but with P games previous efforts and the seeming direction that the trailor points toward, I'm really excited about this… People have mentioned Gears and Halo, well their is plenty of room in my games library for more of that especially with what P games bring to the table.

FAUNA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 4:31 am

Just because he has a power suit doesn't mean it's a Halo copy. People are always too quick to say a game is similar to something else. I'm over Halo, & Vanquish will be better because it is Japanese. The east always has better art direction & design. I hope this title has some mecha combat….please unveil some in-engine graphics.

FAUNA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 4:42 am

Will Vanquish use the Bayonetta graphics tech? I hope it's 60 fps, 3rd person, with a manual rotatable camera. Just as a side note, it would be cool if SEGA let Platinum develop a sequel to some of their IP's, like a PS3/360 Panzer Dragoon or Virtual On etc….(just dreaming)

Damo Posted on January 30, 2010 at 4:49 am

Looks like halo meets crysis. BORING!!!!

FAUNA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 5:09 am

Platinum* Games + Shinji Mikami + SEGA + sci-fi + power suits + mecha = BEYOND $#@!ing AMAZING! That's all there is to say.

fearkiller Posted on January 30, 2010 at 5:53 am

i got very disapointed on this one, who needs any more FPS or 3rd person shooters like Halo and $crosofts productions….there is already too much games like this, and for me this is american style game design, not japanese killer ideas and charismatic way to produce games like kamiya knows how to produce.

I'm in love with bayonetta for the moment, this game rocks, please make more REAL games for the REAL gamer! not high output selling games for the FPS Gamer……

where is the legendary surival horror game that every REAL fan is awaiting from Mikami-san,

we don't need one more stupid game that you can play without any braincells,

imho FPS gaming is for PC to me, i'm sad to see that console gaming is turning too much that way…

i want more Dino Crisis like style, parasite eve and old resident evil series….that capcom killed Btw while turning it into action game :(

and old fan who's 30 now and still waiting for real games like BAYONETTA!

Not a fanboy Posted on January 30, 2010 at 5:59 am

So bungie is the only developer who can use space games? Yeah, right… You halo fanboys need to run back to your little blood sucking developers. 1st. Bungie ripped off "Independence Day" with their halo 3 crap. 2nd. They don't own rights to any space/futuristic shooter. This game looks better than halo anyways – and i'm pretty sure that they won't kill their franchise with 10 games like bungie is doing with halo.

david Posted on January 30, 2010 at 6:16 am

looks like Ironman..

Broken_Angel Posted on January 30, 2010 at 7:08 am

ok….just need to know what format it will be. PS3; definatly, 360; probably, Wii; please? there was a very brief shot that was obviously using the gaming engine rather than live action/CGI, and (visually) it was certainly within the Wii's capabilities so….can't really think of a reason for this to not appear on all three consoles

akuma Posted on January 30, 2010 at 7:20 am

Looks awsuum!

Marco Aurélio Posted on January 30, 2010 at 7:53 am

I wanna play it on my ps3 xDDD i'll wait for this game

Eu quero jogar esse no meu PS3xXXX estou esperando por esse jogo. (Sou do Brasil – i'm from Brazil)

Dante Posted on January 30, 2010 at 7:55 am

Where is GOD HAND 2, Shinji?

Marink Posted on January 30, 2010 at 8:04 am

Nothing can explain the pure awesomeness I just saw.

The detail was way too realistic.

I wasn't sure if it was real or CG.

My God!, you guys are my second Nintendo. lol

axl99 Posted on January 30, 2010 at 8:51 am

I've no solid clue what the game is about just yet, but the lighting and rendering in that trailer is really nice!

Gamera Posted on January 30, 2010 at 9:28 am

Looks amazing, cannot wait! :) (Vanessa Z. Schneider unlockable / playable please!)

xXx183 Posted on January 30, 2010 at 9:31 am

is this a game or a movie cause the graphics is all too realistic i hope it is a game

Awesome Posted on January 30, 2010 at 9:58 am

peacefull nation, lol don't make me laugh.

Greg Oborne Posted on January 30, 2010 at 10:42 am

I'm glad to see Inaba-san is working on this one, if him being tagged is any indication. The trailer looks unbelievable I can't wait to see how this game unfolds and the P.N.03 esque style and feeling is very intriguing,

This just shows how well-rounded and talented everyone at P* is, in such a short amount of time they've managed to climb to the top of the developer world.

yonkykong Posted on January 30, 2010 at 10:44 am

Emmm… it is FPS than Marines of Space?

Phantasos Posted on January 30, 2010 at 11:19 am

More Space Marines and live action in a game.

Not interested so far.

Matthew Findlater Posted on January 30, 2010 at 11:28 am

It looks really good, I'm just waiting for details though. Platinum Games has yet to disappoint me. The least I could do is wait to see gameplay before condemning it just because of a teaser.

fernando H Weber Posted on January 30, 2010 at 11:40 am

I hope you get enough budget to make a decent ps3 port this time,

It looks like iron man meets gears… so far, I can't believe you guys ended up making a shooter well make it the best you can waiting to see it on e3.

Duder Posted on January 30, 2010 at 12:09 pm

What happened to the trailer? I can't see it anymore.

Monetep Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:00 pm

Please don't make it a 1st person, please no, please…

Raawrrr Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:20 pm

This game looks nothing like Halo or Gears of War. Just because Halo and GoW sold tons of copies that doesn't mean they are great, just look at Madden=P. They are enjoyable yes, but not the best OMG ever~.

Anyway, it looks like a mixture of both District 9 (Camera Angles + T.V News style reporting) and Iron Man (Armor Set up). If we can learn anything from this trailer, we can at least expect how a low budget Halo or GoW movie will look like.

Leonardo Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:26 pm

Really hope this comes to the wii, the system needs more good shooters like this.

dnleo Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:33 pm

Honestly, nothing new here; unless you're 13 yrs old. The graphics will be awesome, gameplay will rock foundations and there will be cursewords… but Zero Originality. Even the Conduit was slightly more original where it was the humans who mass cloned a single alien and launched an attack from the ground as opposed to aliens coming from the sky… AGAIN!!! Maybe I'm too old now.

billy4really Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:39 pm

i love this!!! reminds me of my all-time favorite game; PN # 3. vanessa z. shakes ass like no 1 else!!!!

Timothy Pecoraro Posted on January 30, 2010 at 1:45 pm

Saw the GT trailer in HD last night, awesome looking game. Whoever did your CGI kudos to them. I assume you will be announcing more at GDC or E3… Can't wait, Bayonetta is my favorite action game of all time, so I can't wait to see what happens with this game.

DancingRobot Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:00 pm

This is Shinji Mikami's new game? Now, when I first saw it, I wasn't too sure what to think of it. No offense, but shooters are not exactly Japan's forte. However, if Shinji Mikami is working on it, I have no doubt in my mind this game will be nothing but epic win. The man just knows what he's doing. I'd love it if this was the same universe as P.N.03, because I'm one of the few people that bought it on release and enjoyed it. It felt like a crazy 3D Mega Man game.

Anyway, I see Mr. Mikami's name on this, so I'm sold. The man has not wronged me yet. So I look forward to this game.

Wilkus Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:06 pm

District 9 music, Shadow Complex looking outfit and story, Kick ass looking CGI mix god I can't wait to see this

Exit Posted on January 30, 2010 at 2:18 pm

o_0 on PC !!! !?!?!?!?!

Roland Posted on January 30, 2010 at 5:31 pm

When can I throw more money at you to get this in my grubby little hands?

Burns Posted on January 30, 2010 at 6:02 pm

So, if I'm not mistaken, our protaginist is part of a invasion force from space? Interesting concept.

Zabi Posted on January 30, 2010 at 6:07 pm

*Foams at the mouth*

Gvon Posted on January 30, 2010 at 6:24 pm

@ TK

"P.N.03." lol, I got that vibe in some sequence.

Need game footage really, but have faith in Mikami

I think it would be difficult to surpase Res 1 remake,I suppose thats why he settled with the final version of Res 4.
It got scrapped a few times as it was a more traditional horror, but that genre has become a little overdone and i'm not sure were else it could of been taken.Yes we dead space,I think yhey combined early res games with 4 and a good job.
Doom 4 is what I want,3 and ghe res remake are the only 2 horror games I felt dread whilst playing.

FAUNA Posted on January 30, 2010 at 8:01 pm

Platinum Games, Kojima Productions, Team ICO = the top 3 developers in the world. I love you P*! Vanquish is going to be incredible! Please bless us with some in-engine footage/screenshots…& some concept artworks.

Fattuna Posted on January 30, 2010 at 10:51 pm

Can't wait to get into a Augmented Reaction Suit

Zaro27 Posted on January 30, 2010 at 11:51 pm

Dude…this looks AWESOME! This needs to be on PC, especially if it's in first person. It's kinda odd though. Most Japanese developers don't make FPSes, so I sorta expect this to the third person.

Álvaro Lopes Posted on January 31, 2010 at 4:23 am

Everyone says we don't want more shooters (1st and 3rd Person) because we are Ps3 or Xbox360 owners. I have a Xbox360 but I have a Wii too and it needs shooters. The unique shooters I love to play on Wii are CoD:MWReflex and The Conduit. For the Xbox I want more RPG. A for Wii I want Shooters :P

meduz' Posted on January 31, 2010 at 5:48 am

How can you guys say so much things about a little trailer that doesn't show anything about the game? :D

psn:DmikeC Posted on January 31, 2010 at 6:11 am

Icemael Posted on January 31, 2010 at 8:02 am

When I see all these comments about Halo and Gears of War, I can't help but cringe.

Yes, there's a power suit. Yes, the threat you're going to face will presumably be extraterrestrial. Yes, there are guns. Power suits existed before Halo. Aliens and guns did, too. And let's face it, right now, we really don't know anything about the game. Will it be a first-person shooter, or a third-person shooter? How will the shooting mechanics work? Will there be a cover system? Will the enemy actually be of alien origin?

The answer to all of these questions is: We don't know. The only thing we can do is speculate, and you can't make criticisms based on pure speculation. It doesn't work that way. The only valid criticism you can make right now is that the art style is a bit unoriginal, but the fact that the bright, clinically-white futuristic look has been done a couple of times before really doesn't matter, because it looks absolutely gorgeous.

So for Christ's sake, stop jumping to conclusions. You should trust Mikami; the man knows how to make video games.

miva2 Posted on January 31, 2010 at 11:32 am

Not quite what I expected. It looks interesting though. I hope you guys will redefine the shootergenre (assuming this will be a shootergame) because I know you can. Would be cool if this were an rpg or any other genre. My guess is that it'll be an RTS, or something that looks like one. Well, any genre is fine for me. Looking forward to more info.

xX Goldständer Posted on January 31, 2010 at 11:55 am

I am really interested in what you guys will show us in the next months. I haven't played "Bayonetta" yet, but i will definitiv!

Will Posted on January 31, 2010 at 12:03 pm

Hope its for PS3

Marco Posted on January 31, 2010 at 1:45 pm

waooo!!!!!!!! very original concept!!!!!

Pakhair Posted on January 31, 2010 at 3:18 pm

Now that's what I expect from Mikami San, As long as I remember It was supposed to be a horror game but never mind, A Sci-Fi ain't that bad too. And I guess We need someone to replace the old Master Chief

unknownuser Posted on January 31, 2010 at 10:12 pm

"The funniest thing is when some of the so-called fanboys get up trashing Avatar for looking too much like Halo, It's like…pay attention!!!! If I'm referencing anything, I'm referencing the source work for Halo, which is my own stuff. So I get to do that. Nobody else gets to do that, but I get to do that. My rule, anyway."

James Cameron to Halo fans about AVATAR movie

mcleran24 Posted on January 31, 2010 at 10:52 pm

When does this game come out and for what consles

daniel13789 Posted on January 31, 2010 at 11:24 pm

i'm a halo fan and a gears fan and i can easily say that this looks NOTHING like halo or gears what so ever.

people read these words. JUST BECAUSE the hero is wearing armor that covers his whole body and adding a gun to the mix does NOT mean ZOMG HALO KNOCKOFF!

and i seriously don't get where you guys are getting the whole gears of war thing out of this… if its because this might be a TPS then WOOPDY FRIGGEN DO there are a BUNCH of TPS out there.

and i just read unknownuser's post and i have to say… really people. avatar looks NOTHING like halo. the only thing in there that looks somewhat similar are the machines that look like the hornet from halo.

i just wanted to get those things strait.

now back on topic.

this game so far has my attention. i have high hopes for it!

uniwarden Posted on February 1, 2010 at 1:44 am

As far as I am concerned, my only interset so far is the talent behind this tilte to be perfectly honest. This trailer reveals nothing to us but a glimpse of the era and tone. This game could be an FPS, a TPS or even a strategy game. Heck it could even be a brawler.

xboxoz360 Posted on February 1, 2010 at 9:16 pm

Looks great, we'll certainly be following it on our site guys (, so please do send us any info you may have, we'd even be interested in any interviews etc if that was at all possible . . . it looks very very promising indeed.

JordoLundi Posted on February 2, 2010 at 10:49 am

Oh my this is surprising, I certainly didn't expect a shooter. I would like to see it based somewhere other then America, though. Why isn't it ever Canada? D: Oh well. This trailer looks amazingly well done, and I hope to see the gameplay follow suite. It would be nice to see another 3rd person shooter. I find them more immersive. I'll be keeping my eye on this one…

ShinDupa Posted on February 2, 2010 at 11:13 am

Looking forward to gameplay videos!

The design and cg work is pretty damned nice, though.

Kairo Hayime Posted on February 2, 2010 at 5:25 pm

Shinji Mikami you know how the game be in the XBOX 360, better than PS3, you can See Bayonetta for example, this can be a great anouncement but yeah you are my hero and this can be for XBOX 360 again, see ya!

Kadajett Posted on February 2, 2010 at 8:32 pm

The game looks to conformal in my opinion. I can see this game being really pretty, and then when you actually get to playing it, it will be a fluff. Or it wont bring anything new to the gaming scene. But hopefully I am proven wrong, if it is good ill for out the money for it. Likely it will be on the Xbox by the way, accounting the fact that Sega helped in producing it.

unknown Posted on February 3, 2010 at 3:41 am

nice try, but without part 3, it would just be another shooter…

JoycieC Posted on February 3, 2010 at 5:38 pm

Really looking forward to this, though I do hope it's going to be on the PC or the Xbox360 at least, for I don't own a PlayStation 3 which means I wouldn't be able to play it, though I hope it's multiplatform as there are others who would like it to come to PS3 instead of PC or 360 for the same reason as I.

Really looking forward to it, trialer looks great, I replayed the beginning many times because I loved the music intro, really looking forward to it, definitely keeping an eye out for news on the site! :)

XboxOZ360 Posted on February 3, 2010 at 6:49 pm

Wow, some of you so-called gamers really amaze me. You all clammer for new games, you all ask for new innovation, you all ask for games sooner, rather than later, and you all ask for better, bigger, more etc.

Yet when 'any' developers sets out on a challenge, you're the first ones to come along and stick the boot in, BEFORE you can even see or get your hands on said game.

You berate it for terrible visual, gameplay, mechanics, storylines etc, yet you've never, ever even seen, played or viewed any aspect of the game/s.

And you then wonder why development studios closes, loose interest and move on or get gobbled up by larger companies, when you again start complaining once more stating the larger company is killing off creativity, innovation, and the opportunity for new IP's . .See the lunacy of the whole thing!

Why not encourage the developer, wait until they present something meaty that you can actually apraise. We at the site will never pass judgement on a game in development unless we have actually had a play of the code, and then do so according to the code we have in-hand. Judge what it could be like when completed. Then pass comment.

I would hate to be in any developers or publishers shoes in today gaming climate, especially with the console gamers of today, who basically have no real idea of what goes into the conception, pitching, development and final polishing of a single game. Yet they get around 3-5 games on average released each week of each year . .

Spoilt is the word that comes to mind when I think of console gamers, even though I am one of them . . .

Do yourself and everyone else a favour, if you have nothing honest and valid to say, say nothing, and wait until you have solid proof in your hands as to whether something is good, or bad for that matter.

Cammy_w7 Posted on February 3, 2010 at 6:54 pm

Hopefully this is a PS3 exclusive, as it will be a title that im fairly certain will be in the ranks of games such as Resident Evil 4!

XboxOZ360 Posted on February 3, 2010 at 9:02 pm

And why would you want it to be a PS3 exclusive. Resident Evil has been a multiplatform game now, and is doing very well.

Developers these days can not afford to limit their games to one platform unless it is a huge proven franchise, or has the backing f the platform they are aiming at. If they don't there is no way they can recoup their development costs given that sales will not be as high as needed to do so.

A major game must sell at least 2 million copies to recoup its investment, and an as-yet unproven title would be lucky to do that.

Opening the title up to all platforms allows the developer, and then the publisher to maximise their investment, and most of all, keep their shareholders happy.

Without whom they would die and close within a short period of time, which is something many gamers forget these days. Investors and shareholders dictate on how and what gets built, not the wishes of gamers.

I'd love to see the game on all 3 major platforms . . which I believe it will appear on . . .

miva2 Posted on February 4, 2010 at 6:33 am

well said XBoxOz360, but don't put all console gamers in the same group. Like you said you're one of them but don't think like what you said. :)

I hope this game will have more financial success than some other of their wonderful games (okami, viewtiful Joe when they were under clover.) Bayonetta didn't sell that bad i think (not sure, but a lot of people i talked to knew about the game). Hope they'll keep on making such awesome games in the future too :)

style Posted on February 5, 2010 at 7:40 am

from the looks of the suit and the visor display

i see

Iron Man and Halo

cmon, i thought u guys are looking for originality.

but doesn't really matter if the overall game lives up to ur standards

Vanisher Posted on February 5, 2010 at 3:38 pm

The contruction of the soldier is practically identical in concept and execution to the one produced by blizzard for Starcraft 2, which can be viewed on starcraft 2's official website. If they are willing to copy other franchises, the game will probably be nothing innovative or new, but a cheap rip off of other games. BTW white armor? so much for camouflage.

I hope this is a pilot for a new power rangers and not a video game.

60Hertz Posted on February 5, 2010 at 7:07 pm

Hmm… this trailer is interesting, but seems a bit too obvious for P*… so i'm betting either there are some hidden stuff in the vid or P* is holding back on the detail of this game… Something just tells me this is not what it seems…

ESA Posted on February 5, 2010 at 10:07 pm

@ Vanisher

Just because something's been done before doesn't mean it can't be done better. Remember that.

Vanisher Posted on February 6, 2010 at 4:47 pm

Well I hope I'm wrong for platinum's sake

MigamiGOdhand Posted on February 7, 2010 at 1:10 am

stop comparing this to halo, did you play pn03?

omg noobs

MigamiGOdhand Posted on February 7, 2010 at 1:12 am

Vanisher I know what you mean, they are not copying I saw that same scene in a movie besides

in zelda ocarina of time when Ganondorf is playing the pieano at the end that scene in in other games too as wow and lineage 2

Punkvszombi3vsSnake Posted on February 7, 2010 at 1:34 am

Hi Mikami

I love all your games, Dino Crisis is one of the best games I have played, Killer 7 is a master piece, God hand is the best game ever

pn03, RE series, Devil May cry, Ominusha and Phonix wright ace attorney

as you I did not care about RE5

they did not credit Okami creator in the wiiport, I don't care about the okami ds

I dont care what system this game will be in, any game that has Mikami in that is reason for me to buy it.

I don't know they say it looks as halo or gears, well this looks as PN03 that is what I know and that is a Mikami game

meisandsodina Posted on February 9, 2010 at 1:26 pm

to be honest, i was quite disappointed that mikami's game didn't turn out to be a survival horror game :(.

vanquish looks nice, tho. i hope it brings something new and refreshing to the action/shooter genre

"And why would you want it to be a PS3 exclusive." – XBOXOZ360

One main reason, beyond the whole fanboy drivel? To maximize the potential of the PS3 hardware. Mikami is the kind of person who could definitely stand to do such a thing.

The last time Mikami was allowed to push a single console to its limits, and make its hardware dance for him, we got RE4. A game that ended up being one of the best of its kind on the GameCube, and still holds up well to this day.

So, that's what I would like to see, more than any thing else. I would want to see Mikami push the PS3 to its limits, because I believe he could stand to do such a thing, and do the damn thing all the while.

Any way…eager to see more of what this game has to offer. Maybe it could end up being the "Sci Fi Gun Fu" answer to God Hand. That'd be awesome. :B

"to be honest, i was quite disappointed that mikami’s game didn’t turn out to be a survival horror game."

I believe the other title Mikami is working on, the EA-published Suda51/Mikami collaboration project, is a survival horror game.

i wish these idiots would get over themselves! It would be nice if they stop comparing this game 2 others while not even seeing the gameplay. i trust in Platinum and its staff 2 deliver a game experience that is amazing. thank u 4 all the great games so far and looking forward 2 the other creations. ps.- i would love 2 see some more P N #3!

DJ Posted on February 13, 2010 at 12:56 am

Amazing images! Looks like some new appraoches and revisiting some older ones. Can't wait to hear more about this title.

XboxOZ360 Posted on February 13, 2010 at 1:10 am

@ Billy4Really.

Agree 110% . . just how any so-called gamer can already diss a game based on promotional CGI and some small amount of in-game-engine footage is beyond me.

Sadly, in todays gaming world, we are spoilt beyond belief. We have far too many games being offered to us at such an alarming rate, that barely 20% of gamers actually spend any lengthy time in these games. Thus not appreciating what huge amount of work that goes into ANY game.

If these ppl that continually complain about this and that, were to "have" to make a living, support families, make rent, pay home loads, student loans and taxes from the work they did in developing games, they experience just how difficult it can be just to not only make a game, but the unenviable job of making at least 2 levels that are playable, then pitching it to a publisher in the HOPE of securing an advance on the project.

The bulk of gamers sit back and play the games with little thought to what goes into the conception, pitch, and then development of a game. What you are seeing here is something that Platinum games have used at a 'pitch' to secure funding in order to build the game. You (gamers) should be happy that another developer has taken the bit between their teeth and is running with it, especially in these hard economical times.

Go get a job in the industry and see just how hard it can be . .you'll soon change your tune very quickly, that I can assure you.

Why don't we all wait until we see some more development diaries, get some actual screens, see some footage etc. Then we can discus it, because we'll have something to judge it by . . right now you're judging a game based on an "advertisment" . . .

Mark3r Posted on February 17, 2010 at 1:50 pm

Please include us PC gamers, this looks epic!

ANY game by Platinum Games Inc. is worth watching out for. They are the best of the best.

FAUNA Posted on February 19, 2010 at 5:43 am

In-engine screens & or footage PLEASE……. I love you Platinum, The Gods of Gaming.

Vanquished Posted on February 24, 2010 at 12:39 pm

you harp on at people on here about moaning about this game and creativity ect, yet hear you are moaning yourself, yeah really counter productive.

trying to pigeon hole every other gamer but omitting yourself as "you would never moan about something".

as for this game im very intrigued. could we see a proper FPS game from a japanese company seeing as they are not known for such things and with mikami you never know.

CaptainCortez Posted on February 25, 2010 at 9:08 pm

Wow! I know that having good graphics doesn't always mean a lot, but this looks absolutely spectacular!

I could be wrong, but in Metal Gear Solid 4, real eggs were filmed, and then blended graphically, giving the almost real look to it. PlatinumGames have used the same studio which did that in MGS4, so it would be so awesome if this was in all of the cutscenes throughout the game, and possibly even in gameplay parts.

Either way, it looks amazing!

PlatinumGames – The best people who came from Capcom have formed an elite gaming company, and I am a number one fan. I'll be backing PG all of the way. :D

I can't wait to see more of this, and anything else which PlatinumGames will produce.

Amazing stuff! :D

g4mer Posted on February 27, 2010 at 9:41 am

Mildoze Posted on March 19, 2010 at 12:51 am

Ghost Squirrel Posted on April 3, 2010 at 11:10 pm

This is the child of Master Chief and Tony Stark, don't ask how, just is.

deafwing Posted on June 7, 2010 at 6:29 am

I hope you guys are not going to have games re-live that Bayonetta fiasco again? Is it being developed on the PS3 first, or are you still doing ports via Sega?

Eric Posted on August 9, 2010 at 4:22 pm

I admit that the announcement trailer doesn't help show what makes the game different from other shooters, but from all the other vids I've seen so far I am very excited. Every time I see Sam use those rockets to speed across the field I can't help but feel awesome about it, it's looks like he's playing a wicked guitar solo on his knees while being rocket-propelled!

marco Posted on August 31, 2010 at 7:07 am

This game is wonderfull!!!!! …..magnific!!!!!! :-))))))

Sanzo Posted on September 2, 2010 at 3:04 am

Played the demo. Fast paced and run and gun. My favorite. =D

Jeremiah Posted on September 2, 2010 at 11:10 am

Who was that voice for Professor Candide? (U.S. PS3 version) It is bugging me, I know that voice but the game is not even listed on IMDB yet.

Moe Posted on September 2, 2010 at 9:53 pm

Wow,This games is awesome….well the demo was awesome. Although i am happy because the ps3 version is cheaper.

Shooby337 Posted on September 3, 2010 at 2:31 pm

Just played the demo. Loved it. I do feel a jump button is required as this would add a lot more to the fast pace action of the game.

Ivo Posted on September 4, 2010 at 6:09 am

i'll buy this on day one.

Roy Hui Posted on September 6, 2010 at 10:24 pm

This is so awesome, I love Bayonetta, this will be good aslo.

sexyyyyyyyyyy tom Posted on September 7, 2010 at 12:38 am

i want to have sex with this game =D

minkus Posted on September 7, 2010 at 7:08 am

just wait to play it before gobbing off…

jay jay Posted on September 10, 2010 at 12:36 pm

I'm really hoping that the demo that was released was from an early build of the game. I played the 360 and PS3 versions and the 360 version is way better…just like with Bayonetta. The graphics for the 360 version are crisper and cleaner and the frame rate is not constant on the PS3 version. Platinum said that the PS3 was the lead system for the game and it is not showing so far. I just hope that by the time the game comes out that it is way better that what I wasted my time playing. Making another mistake like Bayonetta would be unforgivable.

Sun Tzu Posted on September 11, 2010 at 4:16 am

Why always fighting for those silly Americans?

What about the other 90% (out of 6,8 billion) people who live on this planet, who like to have a go at North America? Payback as they call it… Is fun indeed when i think of this.

Annoyed Posted on September 23, 2010 at 12:00 am

Why no freaking PC?

Stupid move Dev's. Stupid move.

bob Posted on October 31, 2010 at 2:42 am

the best videogame I've ever played on ps3 this year. it's too short and the story is crappy, but the battle is so epic and fast paced, you never played something like this before. I hope the sequel would have more deep storyline (that retreating final boss promising a sequel)

bob Posted on October 31, 2010 at 2:51 am

robert burns armor in mission 4 are similar to gundam GPO2A, and the space colony, Ha! I know they're putting some references there!

Unknown Posted on November 30, 2010 at 4:23 pm

i think this game looks cool in every way, but one question remains. while looking at videos, it seemed impossible to die! Can you die?
