SEGA Europe and SEGA America can today announce that an online update will be available on Jan 28th for the PlayStation 3 version of BAYONETTA. This online update allows the game to be installed onto the console’s hard drive which significantly decreases the loading times for the game.

The update will automatically be downloaded to PlayStation 3 when users launch BAYONETTA.

BAYONETTA is available now on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

Thank god. The load times are the only major problem in the PS3 version. The frame rate isn't bad the vast majority of the time and nobody would notice the textures without a side-by-side comparison with the 360 version.

Does that also include Europe?

kradeexxx Posted on January 29, 2010 at 6:25 am

I've try this patch. It reduces the loading time a lots and also fixes some frame rate during game play, but during cutscene sitll drop.

I hope there will be next patch to fix the rest problem.

Shalimar: yes, it is including europe too.

waiting for framerate/tearing patch now….

It would have been a lot easier had Sega/PlatinumGames just said that a patch was under development in the first place… In any case the patch seemed to not only reduce loading times but slightly improve the graphics as well, nice work.

thank god you guys did this, the loading times made me want to throw my controller. This game is now even more epically win than it was before as I sit here letting the game install to the HDD TY!!!!!

Excellent work SEGA/Platinum in giving the fans what they want and deserve.

The patch has done wonders for the PS3 version. Thank you very much!

PINTO Posted on January 31, 2010 at 4:46 am

All right, but… Where's the PC version of game??? You can do that, I know.

Sundance Kid Posted on February 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm

I havent been on here in awhile, I'm very happy to hear this.

The loading was/is my only complaint of the game.

Arkady Posted on February 4, 2010 at 12:56 am

I was wondering how I can get the patch/update for Bayonetta other than connecting my PS3 to the internet; recently, I have some issues with going online.

warblade100 Posted on February 5, 2010 at 8:52 pm

Arkady…I was wondering the same thing because I have issues with my internet too. I hope there is a way, in fact, there ought to be a way because you can update your PS3 via media storage and that option is for people who don't have internet so am hoping there is a way to get this update via download to a flash drive or something. I badly need that update to continue kicking some azz in Bayonetta, the loading time is killing me man.

Just heard the sales figures topped topped 1 million internationally. That's incredible! Really congratulations to everyone at Platinum Games, and whoever was in charge of advertising for all the great work they did hyping it all up.

Kamiya-san, nevermind Afterburner. You could ask for any console port/revival you wanted now and get it. Request Shenmue 3! Go on!

Oh good! I beat the game several times already, so the experience can only get better with the patch update–and make no mistake, I will continue to play the game for a long time for the unlocks and whatnot.

I never expected to enjoy an action game this much, but Bayonetta has definitely set the standard for me.

Now I wonder if there will ever be a tutorial for the dance moves at the end of the game. You know the one…Let's Dance, Boys! ;D
