Bayonetta Soundtrack On Sale!

Bayonetta

Filed: Bayonetta, Community, Games, PlatinumGames

Hi everyone, Bayonetta composer Hiroshi Yamaguchi checking in.

Bayonetta was released in Japan last week! It was a moment that I was truly waiting for. Someone of you may have even finished everything the game has to offer, and I am truly excited to hear what you thought about the game. But the big news is that in 2 days, on November 4, Bayonetta’s soundtrack will also be released in Japan.

Here it is! It is an elegant design that I think is really, really cool.

It’s a huge soundtrack, spanning 5 discs, and it hold nothing back from the tracks we used in the game. We’ve even added a few bonus tracks to the mix. There are also 36 pages of liner notes featuring comments from Kamiya-san, Hashimoto-san, all the members involved in creating the Bayonetta soundtrack, commentary on all the tracks, lyrics, a special note from vocalist Helena Noguerra, art, etc. There is plenty to read there. I think you will find your enjoyment of the soundtrack vastly increased if you read the track commentaries while listening.

It is a soundtrack that will let you relive your memories of the game. Since it spans a full five discs, it is a bit expensive, but I really hope all of you give it a listen.

Also, I wanted to tell you about a bit of an “easter egg” regarding the in-game music, although I’m writing this in a way that won’t be a spoiler for those who haven’t completed the game. During some of the cutscenes during the game, if you press and hold LB or LT on the 360, L1 or L2 on the PS3, the stage music that comes after will…

Everyone try to find these spots! However, I recommend you do it on your second run through the game.

Well, this is my last entry here. Your comments and messages of support really gave me strength. Thank you all so much. It will probably be a while until we meet again, but until then I will be working as hard as I possibly can! Until next time!!

Mind freakin' blowing. That soundtrack looks amazing. I would consider importing the soundtrack, but I think I'll just wait for some digital distribution, Which I hope comes. No offense, its just easier to manage and is cheaper.

Like having the Madworld Soundtrack on iTunes was really cool. I hope you guys can release this soundtrack state side like that too.

I love your scores/soundtracks!

Now it looks much better than before, especially with all the 5 cases lined up inside the soundtrack's box :D

I've mine already ordered, so just some more days till I get to listen the amazing soundtrack!
Great work P*, Hiroshi Yamaguchi and Masami Ueda for all the work involved.

We've only ever seen the outside packaging for the Bayonetta soundtrack, so seeing these photos was quite a pleasant surprise. Good to hear nothing's been omitted from the track listing, it's a shame when you hear a nice tune from a game that didn't show up on its soundtrack CD.

I for one enjoy listening to soundtracks to the point I'd even listen to the overall sound design for films and games, and from what I've heard so far from the trailers there was a lot of love put into every nook and cranny of the score.

You and the team really didn't hold back on the music production side of Bayonetta! Those liner notes from the team have me interested in how some of the songs came to be. Doing a 5 disc soundtrack like Okami must've took an excruciating amount of effort to complete.

Congratulations on a job well done, all the best on your next project, and please feel free to stop around here again. You've made more fans outside of Japan :D .

[And thanks for the little note on the easter egg!]

You made a fantastic soundtrack for a fantastic game!

Without the music the game would just halfway awesome. :D

On my 360 controller there is a LB and a LT button and not L1 and LB.

YEAH, I TOTALLY BOUGHT THAT SOUNDTRACK ALONG WITH THE ARTBOOK.

It ships out from play-asia IN TWO DAYS. I haven't even played the game yet, BUT I'M SO PUMPED.

I ordered the soundtrack even though I live in the US. I really look forward to hearing it all, too bad I can't read Japanese enough to read the commentary.

Also, thanks for the tip on the easter egg. It'll be fun to try out on my multiple planned play throughs of Bayonetta.

The soundtrack looks stunning and the music I heard so far, is some of the best I heard in a game.

I got it on preorder from play-asia so hopefully Royal Mail will not go on strike for weeks. I need my Bayonetta music fix… :(

sweet lord! That is a smorgasbord of awesome in that CD case!

I probably won't be able to purchase it due to import costs.

Thanx for the rockin' tunes though!

Awesome, I love the cover design. I hope the OST will be made freely available in other regions also.

Just wanted to say that I received (imported from Amazon.jp) this beautiful soundtrack and it truly is amazing.

I'm currently listening to the first disk, but I'm already in love with it. Great job, everyone who worked on this game. I can't wait till the game's released in NA.

Bayonetta is an amazing game. Uncharted 2 is the best game Ive played and Im ranking Bayonetta second to that. This game is amazing and I really need to have this soundtrack. This is the best soundtrack I have ever heard.

I know it's been awhile since anyone posted here. Just trying to find info on how to purchase the soundtrack if it's still available. I can't find a link anywhere to purchase the box set. Either I'm missing something or it's no longer available (except on ebay, of course). Thanks!
