Great stuff, i've heard of several other paradigms such as Miziguchi's "Needs Philosophy", where the game fulfills player's wants and needs (or something like that... i need to read back up on it lol)... but i think this goes a bit deeper into understanding why the player even has wants and needs... applause!

Actually it's people like you Shibata-san and the other geniuses @ PG that make us all feel despaired to even think of joining the industry.

Man, you are all light years ahead of us!

I will be lying if I say I understood this lecture of philosophy completely but I sensed a great deal of depth, profound insight and deep love for your work

one more thing, it;s nice to have you Mr. Shibata. Now I think the last piece of puzzle for the success of PG is confirmed

It is good to see the depth at which the basic elements of gameplay are looked at. This is certainly the kind of thing that separates good games from great ones (as well as how these ideas are implemented into the actual game). I hope that upon the game's release, everyone who worked on Bayonetta will feel a sense of satisfaction from the joy people express from having played the game.

In this post, like several of the others involving the Bayonetta dev team, I am most impressed with the depth of passion which you bring to the game. I think that's where the gaming industry most closely approaches the state of being an "art" after which so many chase. The more I hear from the team, the more I not only want to play this game, but the more I believe I will enjoy the experience.

Great read!

I like how it was broken down in such an incredibly detailed and easy to follow manner.

This Bayo-Blog is the best idea I have ever heard of. It allows the Bayonetta team to actually be able to share the experiences they have had with their fans.

I applaud you, Platinum Games!

Simply Brilliant.

That was an amazing read. I love how insightful and passionate you all are in your game design and philosophy there-of. This blog entry has simply made me more excited about Bayonetta, and even more certain that it's going to be one of the greatest games ever made. Thank You for your insight.

Wow, so this is the phylosophy and phychology of game development. There are alot of things people don't think about when developing media but that the makers have to keep in mind at al times and it's always facinating to know how the human psyche turns even when we don't know it does. Rock one dude.
